Pedestrian in a Wheelchair Injured in Accident in Las Vegas Valley

A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck in an accident on Wednesday night. The accident happened in the residential area in central Las Vegas Valley.

According to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Hose Hernandez, the accident occurred sometime around 6:45 p.m. on the 4900 block of Wilbur Street.

The injured pedestrian had no life-threatening injuries, and was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Hernandez reported. The driver did not flee the scene. The police do not suspect the driver was impaired.

Wilbur Street was closed for the investigation. After the accident, the traffic on the main roads was not affected, although some delays occurred in the residential area.

Pedestrians are exceptionally vulnerable on the roads. They don’t have any protection and cannot run away from speeding cars.

Pedestrians should follow traffic rules not only for their safety but for the safety of everyone on the roadways.

Such accidents are never expected and can drastically change your life. Facing the long recovery process along with the medical feels and lost wages can be excruciating.

But, you have the right to file a lawsuit against the liable party and seek compensation claim for your injuries and damages.

Going through this process would be best done with a pedestrian accident attorney. He or she will help you gather evidence, file the lawsuit, and fight against big insurance companies.

Pedestrian accidents victims often get large settlements in personal injury claims. The fact that you are vulnerable and exposed to the vehicle would put your case in a better position, even if you contributed to the accident (by being careless and negligent).

If you were injured in a pedestrian accident, hire a Las Vegas pedestrian accident attorney and file a lawsuit.
