Crash Alert: Erratic Driver Arrested After Fatal Houston Car Accident

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed on Monday night when an erratic driver ran a red light in northwest Houston and collided with her vehicle.

According to KHOU, the accident occurred at about 8:20 p.m., within the intersection of Gulf Bank Road and Antoine Drive.

Police say that prior to the fatal collision, 28-year-old Lohortenes Sanders had gotten into an argument with her passenger while in the parking lot of an apartment complex near the intersection. The passenger stepped out of the car, at which point Sanders sped off and collided with a vehicle parked in the lot. She then drove out of the complex and onto Gulf Bank Road, ran a red light at Antoine Drive, and crashed into a vehicle in the intersection.

The other driver was ejected from her car and became trapped underneath the vehicle. The unidentified 52-year-old woman died at the scene.

Sanders, who suffered minor injures in the crash, was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide. Authorities say the charges could be increased to manslaughter as their investigation continues to unfold.
