Toddler Hospitalized After Driver Runs Red Light

An accident in Harris County left a two-year-old boy toddler hospitalized with major injuries including brain swelling After Driver Runs Red Light. The toddler was strapped carefully into his car seat when another driver broke the law and ran a red light causing the accident, according to ABC13.

Doctors believe that the injuries would’ve been very severe if the child hadn’t been strapped into the car seat. According to the deputy, the matter is still being investigated as both the drivers involved in the accident claim they did not run the red light and neither appeared impaired.

The Strapped Saved the Baby

The authorities are using this case as an example to highlight the importance of ensuring children are securely and safely seated and strapped to minimize the extent of damage in case of a collision.

However, there is also a need to find the driver that caused the accident as matters like these should not be taken lightly. There are a lot of questions here:

  • Was the driver who caused the accident using the phone while driving?
  • Was he going above the speed limit?
  • Was he driving under the influence?

The investigation must address all these matters and find the real culprit. The family of the injured child may have the option to file a lawsuit if the other driver is found to be at fault.

They may claim medical expenses including future expenses related to the baby’s injury. In addition to this, the family may also pursue further action against the responsible party. These include jail time and license suspension.
