Three People Died in Shootings in Huntington Park, Lake Forest and Compton

Three people died in shootings, and a fourth is hospitalized. Sheriff’s deputies informed that the incidents occurred in Compton, Huntington Park, and Lake Forest.

Two of the victims (a mother and a man) were shot on New Year’s Day in Compton.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived at the 2200 block of West 154th Street at 12:40 a.m. after someone reported the shooting.

The deputies found a man and a woman shot in the chest area. The woman died in the hospital, and the man was in critical condition.

A man who was dating the woman was arrested. He was not injured.

The woman had two children aged ten and fourteen. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the children witnessed the shooting of their mother but were not injured.

This shooting incident was not gang-related, and for now, no gun was recovered.

On Tuesday night, another shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Hill Street in Huntington Park. The police received a call about shooting around 8:40 p.m. At about 1:25 a.m. on January 1st, the sheriff’s deputies arrived at an alley in a residential area near 2nd Street and Village Drive.

The sheriff’s deputies found a man on a sidewalk with several gunshot wounds in the chest area. He was transported to a hospital, where the doctors pronounced him dead.

The suspects of the shooting were described as two men in dark clothes that were driving in a black sedan. Witnesses saw the vehicle driving on Hill Street.

The third death was reported in Lake Forest.

These cases are typical aggravated assault that ended in death. Wrongful death is the case when another party is responsible (out of negligence or malicious intent) for the death of the victim.
