One Car Ends in a Bayou, Another Between Houses In a Houston Police Chase

Houston Police Department had two chases where one car ended in a bayou and the other between two houses. Both accidents ended without serious injuries. Six people were arrested.

The first accident took place shortly after midnight when the Houston Police tried to stop a vehicle near Live Oak and Francis in the Third Ward. The reason for the stop is not clear for now. The driver continued driving, leading the police on a chase. The vehicle overturned on Live Oak, rolling in the front yards of two houses, and stopping between them in the end.

Authorities inform the driver and the passenger were arrested, and the driver is facing a felony charge of evading police.
The other accident occurred about one hour and a half later. It happened in East End, where the police responded to a carjacking in the 100 block of Bedford when they noticed the vehicle that was reported stolen.

The couple whose car was stolen told the police the attackers had a gun. For now, the police did not say if the couple was injured.
The police tried to stop the driver, but he too continued driving and led them on a chase into Mason Park, near Brays Bayou and 75th Street. The driver attempted to drive under a bridge and instead ended into the water.

Houston Police Department informed that two people surrendered, and another two tried to swim down the bayou. Eventually, they surrendered as well.
