Crash Alert: Woman killed in Spring Branch DWI crash

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed Sunday morning when her vehicle was struck by a man police believe was driving under the influence, the Houston Chronicle reports.

The incident occurred in the intersection of the Katy Freeway feeder road and Gessner Road shortly before 7:50 a.m., when the driver of a grey Nissan Sentra ran a red light and crashed into a gray Mazda3. The force of the collision knocked the cars into a white Toyota Rav4 that was stopped at the light.

The woman died at the scene. Her identity has not been made public.

The Nissan’s driver was arrested at the scene under suspicion of driving under the influence. This is an ongoing story that will be updated should more information become available.
