Crash Alert: Woman killed in apparent hit-and-run in SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A woman was killed in an apparent hit-and-run collision at an apartment complex in Southwest Houston Monday night, ABC 13 reports.

A witness discovered the body in the complex’s parking lot at Elmside near Meadowglen, close to the intersection of Gessner and Westheimer, and alerted police. Investigators believe the incident occurred between 9 p.m. and midnight Monday, as the victim was taking out the trash, and that the perpetrator fled the scene.

“It’s kind of unusual. [Fatal pedestrian collisions in parking lots] don’t happen all the time,” Sgt. David Rose told reporters. Investigations are ongoing.
