Crash Alert: Two killed, two injured when car crashes into Spring business

SPRING, TX – Two people were killed and two were injured when a car crashed into a business in Spring on Thursday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported in a press release.

Around 4:35 p.m., William Landwert was traveling near 4300 Spring Cypress in his 2005 orange Dodge Neon with passengers Joshua Brewer and George Bertus. While traveling at a high rate of speed, Landwert changed to the road’s left lane to pass another vehicle. He suddenly lost control of his Neon, crashing into a ditch on the side of the road. His car went airborne after hitting a nearby culvert, slamming into a business at 4231 Spring Cypress Road.

Landwert and Brewer were both killed upon impact, while Bertus suffered critical injuries. A woman inside the building at the time—later identified as Claudia Alvarado-Herrera—sustained minor injuries.

The investigation into the incident remains open.
