Crash Alert: Suspect slams into IHOP during police pursuit

HOUSTON, TX – A suspect slammed into an IHOP during a police pursuit early this morning, ABC 13 reports.

The incident began at about 2:15 a.m. Friday, when the suspect shouted derogatory statements at law enforcement before leading the police on a brief chase. He then hit an IHOP located on Washington Avenue near the Katy Freeway. Employees and customers were inside at the time but none were hurt.

The driver was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the accident and was detained by officers.
