Crash Alert: Six-year-old boy suffers severe injuries after crash in Spring

SPRING, TX – A six-year-old boy suffered severe injuries after a crash in Spring on the morning of Saturday, August 29, according to FOX 26.

Upon arriving at the scene, responders found a Honda Fit ablaze at the intersection of the Grand Parkway and FM 2920. Authorities say 28-year-old Erika Long was driving near the area when her car left the roadway and slammed into a cable divider, which caused the vehicle to burst into flames.

Long and her son were already out of the vehicle when authorities arrived. The mother is in stable condition while the young boy reportedly suffered serious burns and is currently in critical condition,.

Authorities believe Long was intoxicated at the time of the incident. She now faces charges of intoxication assault.
