Crash Alert: Pedestrian dies after being hit while standing on curb near North Shepherd

HOUSTON, TX – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a passing vehicle while standing on a curb near North Shepherd Drive on the night of Monday, August 25, according to KHOU 11.

A white Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north on North Shepherd Drive when the driver of the car suddenly veered off the side of the road, hitting a pedestrian who was standing on the curb at the road’s intersection with West Little York Road.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. The Tahoe had two blown-out tires and a large skid mark was found on the road. It is not known if the driver was impaired, but investigators have reported that speed contributed to the incident.
