HOUSTON, TX – The Houston Police Department has arrested a suspect responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Saturday, September 5.
According to a press release issued by the department, 26-year-old Adrian Uriel Tapia was driving near 1100 North Sam Houston Parkway when he hit a motorcyclist near the freeway’s Ella Boulevard intersection. Tapia and a passenger in his vehicle got back in the car but Tapia then fled the scene. The motorcyclist was killed upon impact.
He stopped at a nearby gas station but his car soon caught on fire shortly after. He then fled on foot to his home in Conroe. Authorities eventually arrested Tapia for his role in the accident.
