Crash Alert: Driver struck and killed after exiting vehicle on the East Freeway
HOUSTON, TX – A driver was struck and killed after exiting their vehicle on the East Freeway, according to the team at Click2Houston.
The unidentified motorist got out of their car on the side of the freeway near Federal Road around 12:30 a.m. in order to inspect the vehicle. Another driver reportedly warned the person to get back in their vehicle to avoid getting hit by a passing car.
The second driver was pulling away from the scene when he heard a loud noise behind him. He turned to discover that the victim had been hit by another vehicle on the freeway.
The driver that hit the disembarked motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
