HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way driver and their passenger died on Tuesday when they crashed head-on into another vehicle on the Highway 288 toll road.
According to KHOU, the female driver was 21 and her passenger was 25. They both died when their vehicle flipped on impact. The driver of the red Honda Accord they hit suffered a broken leg.
The accident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on December 22 just south of Highway 610. The wrong-way driver was in a black Mazda 3 heading north in the southbound lanes.
Police are still investigating why the driver was going in the wrong direction.
