Crash Alert: Cyclist hit and killed while feeding stray dogs

HOUSTON, TX – A cyclist was killed after being hit by a car while feeding stray dogs Sunday evening, according to Click2Houston.

The incident occurred at about 6 p.m., when the driver of a speeding car lost control of the vehicle near 8200 John Ralston Road. The car struck a nearby female cyclist who was witnesses say fed stray dogs in the area every day. The woman was carried several hundred feet before the car slammed into a tree.

The unidentified victim was killed on impact. An empty bag of dog food and a leash were found on the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where he was determined to be high on drugs at the time of the accident.  Once he is released, he will be charged with intoxication manslaughter.
