Crash Alert: 16-year-old boy killed in four-vehicle crash on US 59

KINGWOOD, TX – A 16-year-old boy visiting from Honduras was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the Eastex Freeway on Tuesday night, abc13 reports.

According to officials, a Mercedes had stopped in a southbound lane of US 59 due to mechanical trouble at around 7:30 p.m. Both occupants of the Mercedes exited their vehicle. A Dodge pickup truck stopped behind the Mercedes.

A Nissan pickup truck then slammed into the rear of the Dodge pickup at a high rate of speed. The front of the Nissan collapsed, critically injuring the driver and killing the 16-year-old passenger. It is not clear whether the other people involved were injured.

Because the accident took place near the Kingwood Medical Center, staff from the hospital rushed over to help.
